Mildred B. Culbert, 96, of Niagara Falls, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Mrs. Culbert was born November 12, 1912 in Peters Creek, Virginia, the daughter of Frank and Lula (Woodall) Glick, she lived here all her adult life. She formerly worked as a registered nurse at N.F. Memorial Medical Center and at Lockport Memorial Hospital. She was a longtime and very active member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of their Quilters Club. She was Past President of the N.Y.S. Button Society and a member of the Griffon Mother's Club. She was the wife of the late Thomas Culbert, who died in 1982; and mother of the late Thomas Culbert, Jr. She is survived by three sons, James D. Culbert and Jon (Mary Ann) Culbert, both of Niagara Falls and Donald (Rosemary) Culbert of Grand Island; her daughter-in-law, Renee Culbert; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Grace Born and Betty Ann Filer. There will be no prior visitation. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM in the Lane Funeral Home, Inc., 8622 Buffalo Avenue with Rev. Jean Edmister officiating. Interment will be in N.F. Memorial Park Cemetery, Town of Lewiston. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 8210 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
