Birth: 1920 Death: Dec. 6, 2006 LOVE, JAROLD PHILLIP, 86, a life-long resident of Palmyra, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at the Indian Creek Nursing Home in Corydon, IN, where he had been residing for over three years. His parents were the late Straud C. Love and Lucretia G. Feiock Love of Palmyra. Mr. Love, better known as "Lovie," played an active role in the community his whole life. He served several years as a member in the Palmyra Volunteer Fire Department and the former Fish and Game Club. He became a member of the Palmyra Church of Christ in 1997. His many jobs include serving as Morgan Township Trustee for eight years and driving a school bus for 26 years for Morgan Township School and the North Harrison Community School Corporation. He retired from his job of which spanned almost 50 years from Haub's Hardware, which was formerly known as Martin's Feed Store then Haub's Feed and Supply. He was always known as one who was ready to help out a neighbor by performing jobs from installing water heaters , fixing broken pipes or water leaks, to cleaning out wood stoves and even helping in construction projects. Jarold was preceded in death three years ago by his wife of 54 years, Doris Mae Wilson Love. Preceding him in death also were four brothers, Loren, Harold (his identical twin), Horace, and Lloyd. He leaves behind one brother, Clarence Love, of Palmyra and his only sister, Alma Love Merryman, of New Albany. Survivors include three children, Connie Richards (Tony), Marilyn Mink (Larry), and Merrill "Buddy" Love (Debbie), all of Palmyra. There are six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren. Funeral service: 2 p.m. Sunday at Love Funeral Home, Palmyra, IN with burial in Palmyra Cemetery. Visitation: 1-8 p.m. Saturday at the Love Funeral Home and after noon Sunday until time of service.
