Mrs. Minnie C. Egger, 72, of Lewisville, Route 2, and widow of Herman Egger who died in 1949, died at midnight Wednesday, September 24, 1958, in the Barnesville General Hospital following an illness of several years. She had been hospitalized only the day before, however.
Born May 13, 1886, in the Lewisville vicinity, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Caroline Haffner Claus. She was a member of St. John?s United Church of Christ (Evangelical and Reformed) at Middle Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lester (Gladys) Landefeld, of Woodsfield, Route 3; a son, Elwood Egger, of Marysville, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Christman, of Lewisville, Route 1, and Mrs. Elmer Christman, of Apple Creek; two brothers, Gilbert J. Claus, of Lewisville, Route 1, and Edwin Claus, of Smithland, Iowa, and five grandchildren.
Brief services were held at the Gardner Funeral Home in Woodsfield Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o?clock, with additional services at Middle Church at 2:30 o?clock. Rev. George W. Varnes officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery
