Esther Kindelberger
Esther Kindelberger, age 78, of Hendricks, passed away Friday, June 15, 2007 at the Hendricks Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 19, at Christ Lutheran Church in Hendricks. Rev. Duane Baun officiated. Burial was in Hendricks City Cemetery. Honorary Casketbearers were her grandchildren, Betsy, LaRea, Neal, Brent, Angela and her great grandchildren, Leah, Lily, Grant, Thea, Evan, Mason, Chloe and Carson. Casketbearers are James Benson, Everett Benson, Larry Benson, Keith Benson, Ray Benson and Jim Fredricks.
Esther Florence Kindelberger was born March 27, 1929, at her grandmother's home in Yellow Medicine County north of Burr. She was the daughter of Everett and Leona (Meyer) Benson. She met and married Verle Kindelberger on Oct. 19, 1947, at St. John's Church in Aurora, Ill. The couple made their home in Aurora and had three children. For 25 years, she worked at Mercy Center as a secretary for the psychology department. While she was working she achieved her GED and went to the school of cosmetology in Oswego, Ill., at the age of 50. She did hair in her home for 10 years. They retired to Hendricks in 1991. They were members of Christ Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Bible Study and she enjoyed volunteering for many church functions. Esther volunteered at the Senior Dining and the hospital. She worked at the Hendricks Public Library. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and had many friends in Hendricks, too numerous to mention. One of her last wishes was to have her two pets, Juniper and Ajax buried with her.
Survivors are her three children, Alan (Vicky) Kindelberger, Kathy (Dennis) DeVos, Roger (Vicki) Kindelberger; five grandchildren, Betsy (Tom) Schmitt, LaRea Pesavent, Neal (Karen) DeVos, Brent Kindelberger, Angela Kindelberger; eight great-grandchildren, Leah, Lily, Grant, Thea, Evan, Mason, Chloe and Carson; siblings, James (Jean) Benson, Raymond (Pauline) Benson, Everett (Tami) Benson, Larry (Eydie) Benson, Keith (Dena) Benson, Marlys (Dick) Edwards, Carol Benson, Mary (Jerry) Hein, Marlene (Marv) Fredricks, Edie (Paul) Kreisel; sister-in-laws, Ruby Fetzer, Wilma (Russ) Miller; brother-in-law, Dale (Pat) Kindelberger; godchildren, Cheryl Lynn (Benson) Beebe, Jim Fredricks, Sharon Beverly and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, Everett and Leona; husband, Verle in 2000; sister, Ramona; brother-in-law, Dean; niece, Denise Benson; nephew, Dennis Foss; mother and father-in-law, Anna and Bill Kindelberger and goddaughter, Betsy Marie Edwards.
