Ida Nau Burkhart's obituary appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on December 22, 1954.DEATH CLAIMS IDA BURKHART Mrs. Ida E Burkhart, 51 wife of Nicholas Burkhart of 526 Luck avenue, died at 4:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Bethesda hospital where she had been a patient since Dec. 6. She had been ill with a heart ailment for the past two years. She was born at Fulda, Aug, 28, 1903, a daughter of John and Philomenia Hupp Nau. She had lived in Zanesville 30 years. Mrs. Burkhart was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic church,
Surviving are her husband; one son, Leo of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Stephen Devol of Des Plains, Ill. and Miss Regina Burkhart and Miss Thresia (sic) Burkhart both of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Thresia Shilinski of Dexter City, Mrs. Amelia Fogle of Lewisville and Mrs. Helen Miller of Caldwell; and two brothers, Andrew Nay of Dexter City and Edward Nau of Caldwell Rt. 1. The body is at the Hillis funeral home where friends may call after 6 o'clock this evening. It will remain at the funeral home until morning at the St. Thomas Catholic church. Burial will be in Mt. Olive.
