Haren, Mrs. Lucetta B., age 82, widow of the late John B. Haren, succumbed in North Wheeling Hospital Thursday morning, January 1, at 8:40 o'clock. Mrs. Haren fell at her home in Miltonsburg on December 23rd, breaking her hip, and was immediately removed to the hospital. [date of death-- January 1, 1948]
A daughter of the late George and Barbara Weisend Burkhart, she was born February 26, 1865. She was united in marriage with John B. Haren at Miltonsburg, who preceded her in death in 1919. The Haren family resided on the Woodsfield-Miltonsburg Road for many years.
Surviving are three sons; Richard Haren, of Woodsfield; Lawrence Haren of Miltonsburg; and Ralph F. Haren, of Hedley, British Columbia, Canada; one daughter, Mrs. James (Mary) McAlonan of Akron; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Zwick of Louisville, Stark County, and Mrs. Theresia Burkhart, of Barnesville, and one brother, E.V. Burkhart, of Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Haren; two daughters, Rose and Josephine; two sons, Homer and Elmer; three sisters, Mary Burkhart, Mrs. Minnie Zwick and Mrs. Bertha Zwick, and three brothers, Frank, Simon and George Burkhart.
The body was brought to the Galbraith Funeral Home where it remained for the funeral services which were held Saturday at 9:00 o'clock in St. John's Church at Miltonsburg. Rev. Edwin E. Yocke officiated.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Monter, George Zwick, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Zwick, Gerald Zwick, James Zwick, Mrs. Edna Hoover, Mrs. Ella Zwick and Mrs. F.E. Cuenot of Louisville, Stark County; Mr. and Mrs. Urban Zwick of Minerva; Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Kramer, of Canton; Mr. and Mc Melvan Burkhart of Summerfield.
A good mother and a helpful neighbor and friend, Mrs. Haren will be sadly missed in the community.
