Charles D. BottSource: Daily Jeffersonian, Cambridge, Ohio dated December 30, 2001WOODSFIELD ? Charles D. Bott, 85, of Woodsfield, died Thursday (Dec. 27, 2001) at The Gables Care Center, Marysville. He was born at the family farm near Woodsfield on July 20, 1916, son of the late Charles F. and Georgia (Neuhart) Bott. Mr. Bott was a retired heavy-equipment operator for the Ohio Valley Sand and Gravel Co. and a retired farmer. He was a former Center Township trustee in Monroe County; a member of Woodsfield United Methodist Church; a World War II U.S. Army veteran; member of VFW Post 5303, Woodsfield; a member of the American Legion Post 87, Woodsfield; member of the 40 & 8 Voiture Local 363, Woodsfield; member of the Knights of Pythian Lodge 338, Woodsfield; and a member of the Monroe County Farm Bureau.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Corene (Gehrig) Bott, on Dec. 14, 1979, and a son, Daniel Bott.He leaves a daughter, Karen Bott (Jim Hughes) of Ostrander; a brother, Dr. Hugh L. Bott of Woodsfield; four grandchildren, Tiffany, Felicity, Corrie and Jimmy; and a niece, Helen (John) McGinnis of Laurens, S.C.Services will be 2 p.m. today at Watters Funeral Home, State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, with the Rev. Dwaine Denis officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, with full military graveside services by the Belmont Veterans Council.
