  [S927] Obituary. Wilburt Claus Wilburt Walter Claus, 89, of 33101 Christman Ridge Road, Lewisville, Ohio died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 at the Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell, Ohio. He was born near Lewisville, Ohio on May 7, 1917 a son of the late Walter C. and Lydia Kilburn Claus.He attended the Barnhart and Lewisville School; was a retired farmer, school bus driver and serviced gas wells in the area. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ near Lewisville, Ohio and was a United States Navy veteran, having served in Hawaii during World War II. After he retired and could no longer do outside work, Wilburt enjoyed piecing and quilting quilts.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Freda Claus; one sister, Grace (Ralph) Jones; and aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.Surviving are his wife, Beryl Christman Claus, whom he married on Sept. 20, 1947; three sons: Roger (Phyllis) Claus of Lewisville; Dale (Susanne) Claus of Columbus, Ohio; and Ray (Deborah) Claus of Plainfield, Ind.; one sister, Evelyn (Charles E.) Reed; one brother-in-law: Paul (Marie) Christman; six grandchildren: Russell (Natalie) Claus, Andrew Claus, Ryan Claus, Benjamin Claus, Aaron Claus and Capt. Pamela Claus of the United States Air Force; one great-grandson: Nicholas Claus; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday.Friends then received at the Trinity United Church of Christ, near Lewisville, Ohio, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m., Thursday, with the Rev. Karen Binford officiating.
