Matz, Wallace S.Source--NewsclippingWallace S. Matz ,59, of Woodsfield, Route 2, died Wednesday morning, September 23, 1964, at 12:30 o'clock, in Barnesville General Hospital. He had been in failing health for some time. He was born at Woodsfield, July 7, 1905, a son of the late Attorney L.E. Matz and Anna Egger Matz.Mr. Matz was a farmer and electrician, and attended St. Paul's United Church of Christ. He was a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles.Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. George (Barbara) Howell, of Woodsfield, and Miss Patricia Matz, of Bloomington, Minnesota; two sons, Ronald Matz, of Bloomington, Minnesota, and Lewis Matz, of the home; six grandchildren, and one brother, Judge Edmund Matz, of Belmont County Common Pleas Court, St. Clairsville.His wife, Elizabeth[Sterla] Matz, died September 21, 1962. A brother, Attorney Capel Matz, also preceded him in death.Friends will be received at The Bauer and Turner Funeral Home after seven o'clock this Thursday evening.Funeral services will be held in their chapel on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, with Rev. George Corbitt officiating.Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
