FABACHER, John LCAP 5/13/2000 WESTLAKE - Funeral arrangements for John Fabacher, 80, will be announced by Hixson Funeral Home. He died Friday in a local hospital. FABACHER, John J. LCAP 5/14/2000 WESTLAKE - Funeral services for John Joseph Fabacher, 80, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 15, from St. John Bosco Catholic Church. The Revs. Alan Trouille, Fred Reed and Garrett Caraway will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Visitation is 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7 p.m.; and from 8 a.m. Monday. Mr. Fabacher died at 11:40 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2000, in a local hospital. A native of Edgerly, he lived most of his life in Westlake. He served in the Coast Guard as a motor machinist mate 3rd class in World War II. He retired from Westlake United Methodist Church as maintenance custodian after 19 years of service. He retired from the Calcasieu Parish School Board as a bus driver after 20 years of service. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 406 as a construction worker. He was formerly employed by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office as a school crossing guard for Westwood Elementary School. He was a member of American Legion Post 407. He was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus 5755. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Velta E. Fabacher; one son, Kenneth T. Fabacher of Westlake; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Carolyn) Graske of Lake Charles and Mrs. James (Patty) Guidry of Sulphur; and two grandchildren.
