Margaret Blattner was born in Steinweiler, Germany in 1848 and died at Prairie City, October 5, 1914. She came to this country at the age of eighteen*, joining her parents who had previously settled at Pella. She had stayed with her grandparents. She was married in Pella, in 1870, to Henry Miller, of Des Moines, where they set up house-keeping.
Four children, two died in infancy. The living are William G. Miller, of Des Moines, and Rosa Kirkpatrick, of Kansas City, Missouri. She leaves the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. M. F.(Caroline) Larsh, of Des Moines; Lou (Louise) and Marie Blattner and brother Charles, of Prairie City; J. W. (William) Blattner, of Devils Lake, North Dakota; H. (Henry) J. Blattner, of Scobey, Montana; and Mrs. F. W.(Laura) Curtis, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; also a niece, Mrs. Harry Colburn, of Des Moines. Burial in the Waveland cemetery in Prairie City.
