Blackstone, John Leroy Blackstone
John Leroy Blackstone, 67, of Lewisville, Route 2, Lewisville, a retired carpenter and farmer, died Saturday evening, August 30,1975, in Barnesville Hospital. He had been admitted to the hospital on Thursday. He was born in Noble County, March 12, 1908, a son of Clark and Margaret Heil Blackstone. Mr. Blackstone was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Burkart.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred; seven sons, Vernon(Cora) Blackstone of Orrville; Frank (Wanda) of Lewisville; Dale(Hilda); Francis(Judy) Lewisville; Donald (Hazel) of Wadsworth; David (Nicki) of Lewisville; Patrick (Aleta) of Lewisville; two daughters, Mrs. Mary(John)Sheets and Mrs. Darlene(Richard) Liston of Columbus; thirty-seven grandchildren; five brothers, Bernard of Huntington, Indiana; Paul and Elmer of Zanesville; Bert, of New Concord, and Wilbur Blackstone, of Cleveland, and two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Thompson, of Caldwell, and Mrs. Marilla Schoeppner, of Cumberland.
A funeral Mass was held at ten o'clock Tuesday morning in St. Joseph's Church, with Msgr. Robert A. Brown officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with the Gardener Funeral Home of Woodsfield in charge. The Rosary was recited at the funeral home on Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock.
