Neibch, Edwin Carl Neibch
Newsclipping, dated, February 1955
Provided by Lena Kahrig Pettit-Typed by Betty Lendon Matson
Neibch, Edwin Carl, was born near Monroefield, on November 18, 1887, the son of John and Louisa Bintz Neibch. He departed this life at his home, February 1, 1955 at the age of 67 years and two months.
He lived his entire life in the Monroefield community and was a life-long member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church where he was baptized and confirmed in his youth. He also served in the United States Armed Forces in World War I.
On April 16, 1951 he was united in marriage with Mrs. Anna Claus.
He is survived by his wife; four sisters, Mrs. Clarence Weber and Miss Luella Neibch of near Woodsfield; Mrs. Leona LaFollette, of Akron and Mrs.Lydia Bailer[Bailey] of Cleveland; three stepchildren; Alvira Claus, of Barnesville; Floyd Claus, of Salem, Ohio and Bernard Claus of Witchita, Kansas.
All his life Edwin was a hardworking farmer, first on his parent's farm where he lived with his mother and sister and then continuing on his own farm where he lived with his wife. He loved to farm and to tend cattle, to watch things grow and to be in the out-of-doors.
Short services were held in the Bauer and Turner Funeral Chapel on Friday afternoon at one o'clock. Additional services were held at two o'clock in St. John's (Middle Church) Evangelical and Reformed Church. Rev. George Varnes officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery. Military rites were accorded by Monroe Post 87, American Legion.
You who are born of the hills,
Hill-bred, lover of hills,
Though the world may not treat you allright,
Though your soul is weary with ills;
This will you know above other men,
In the hills, you will find peace again.
NOTE OF THANKS--To all those who were a comfort and help during the recent death of my beloved husband, to the friends in the neighborhood, to Mr. Paul Turner, for his kindness, to the American Legion for their service, to Reverend Varnes for his comforting words, and for the many beautiful
flowers, my deepest thanks and appreciation. MRS. EDWIN NEIBCH & FAMILY
