CLARA SHOUDEL DIES, FUNERAL IS WEDNESDAY
Mrs. Clara Shoudel, 88, who resided for many years with her son, Charles T. Shoudel of 418 South Guilford Street, Garrett, died Monday at 12:10 a.m. in Sacred Heart hospital, Garrett, where she had been a patient only two days. Mrs. Shoudel had been afflicted with hardening of the arteries and last Wednesday suffered a stroke of paralysis, which paralyzed her left side. The body was taken to the Gerig funeral home in Auburn, where it will remain until final rites Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Rev. Anthony Quinlisk will officiate and burial will follow in Catholic cemetery, Auburn. Mrs. Shoudel was born near Leo. Her husband, Matthias, died in 1929. Surviving besides the son in Garrett, are another son, Anthony of Jackson township, DeKalb county; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, William Fox of Plymouth, Ind.; and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Zehner of Monterey, Ind. Mrs. Shoudel was a member of the Rosary Society and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Garrett.
Final rites were held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception church at Auburn for Mrs. Clara Shoudel, 88, who died Monday at 12:10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart hospital. Rev. A. M. Quinlisk officiated and burial followed in Catholic cemetery, north of Auburn. The pallbearers were A. Hollis, Joseph Kobiela and Leo Johnson of Garrett and Joseph Roop, Richard Shoudel and Robert Shoudel of Auburn. Mrs. Shoudel had made her home with two of her sons, Charles T. Shoudel of 418 South Guilford street, Garrett, and Anthony Shoudel of R. 2, Auburn. She suffered a stroke of paralysis Wednesday, Nov. 4, and was a patient in the hospital 2 days.
