TRIPP - Gertrude Hieb, 74, of Tripp, died Saturday (Oct. 10, 1992), at St. Benedict's Hospital in Parkston. Funeral services are today (Monday) at Frieden Reformed United Church of Christ in Tripp with the Rev. David Murray officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in Tripp. Pallbearers are Danny Brosz, Joel Vetter, Don Schmidt, Bob Schmidt, Harlan Hieb and Arlo Dewald. Mrs. Hieb was born May 13, 1918, on a farm near Tripp to Jacob J. and Emilie (Heinrich) Dewald. She married Julius H. Hieb on Jan. 14, 1943, at Tripp. They farmed in the Tripp area until 1966, when they met and moved into Tripp. She worked for two years at Buechner Hardware at Tripp. She was a life member of the Frieden Reformed United Church of Christ in Tripp. Her husband died in July of 1989. Survivors include one son, Stan of Tripp; two grandchildren; one brother, Ray Dewald of Tripp; three sisters: Irene Tiede, Parkston; Ollie Vetter, Tripp; and Gladys Schmidt, Tripp. She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters.
