Emma Mehlhaff Aberdeen - Emma Mehlhaff, 101, of Aberdeen died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at the Aberdeen Living Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 624 N. Jay St., Aberdeen, with Rev. Jais Tinglund and Rev. John Farden officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Emma Gohl was born July 19, 1903, at Leola, S.D., to Frederick and Christina (Hoff) Gohl. She attended school at Eureka, S.D. She married Albert Mehlhaff on Feb. 17, 1924, at Eureka. After their marriage, they farmed south of Eureka until 1935, when they moved into Eureka. In 1943 they moved to Igloo, S.D., and resided there until 1945, when they moved to Aberdeen. Albert died on June 16, 1965, and Emma continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Pat Mehlhaff of Aberdeen; two sisters, Marie Schnabel of Aberdeen and Alvina Schaible of Moses Lake, Wash.; and four grandchildren, Brad (Janan) Mehlhaff and their two children Rachel and Kevin of Minneapolis, Minn., Paige Mehlhaff of San Diego, Calif., Cindy Mehlhaff of Aberdeen and Scott (Lisa) Mehlhaff and their two sons, Christopher and Robert of Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, four sisters and one son, Raymond Mehlhaff on Aug. 16, 2004. Casketbearers will be Larrie Petrich, LeRoy Neuhardt, Dennis Schuchhardt, Brad Mehlhaff, Scott Mehlhaff and Arvin Zinter. Published in the Aberdeen News on 1/6/2005.
