Funeral services for Edna Stoebner were held Friday, May 9, 2008, at Friedens Reformed Church, Tripp, with the Rev. Greg Way officiating. Interment was made in the Friedens Reformed Cemetery with Goglin Funeral Home, Tripp, in charge of arrangements. Casketbearers were David Stoebner, Todd Weisser, Tim Hein, Leo Gannon, Leo Semmler and George Semmler. Edna (Semmler) Stoebner was born Thursday, May 19, 1921, in Douglas County, east of Corsica, to Fred W. and Christina (Schmierer) Semmler. She married Ruben E. Stoebner on September 16, 1941. They farmed west of Tripp for 45 years before moving to Tripp. She resided in Tripp for 19 years before moving to the Armour Nursing Home on April 17, 2006. She was a member of the Friedens Reformed Church of Christ. She died on Tuesday, May 6, at the Golden Living Center in Armour at the age of 86 years, 11 months, and 17 days. She is survived by one son, Dennis and wife, Edna Stoebner, Aberdeen; one daughter, Judy and husband, Darold Weisser, Armour; four grandchildren, David (Heidee) Stoebner, Todd (Shirlyce) Weisser, Tammy (Tim) Hein and Lynn (Leo) Gannon; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ruben Semmler, Parkston; two sisters, Rose Helle, Mitchell, and Martha Esau, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben, on November 27, 2001; parents, Fred and Christina Semmler; five brothers, Rudolph, Bernhard, Emanuel, Gottfried and Art; and three sisters, Alvina Mahoney, Amanda Semmler and Adeline Young.
