Mrs. Catherine W. Holsopple
Catherine Wertz Holsopple, widow of Elder Jacob Holsopple, died at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Holsopple home, No. 1036 Bedford street, Walnut Grove, aged sixty-four years, seven months and two days. The cause of her death was pneumonia, she having taken ill a fortnight ago. The deceased, whose maiden name was Catherine Wertz, was born at Benscreek, Somerset County, and was married forty years ago to Jacob Holsopple, who died in February, 1906, at Geistown. Mrs. Holsopple was a sister of D. B. and J. B. Wertz of Benscreek, Mrs. Caroline Gordon, Mrs. Susan McCreary, and Mrs. Albert Kinsey, all of Bedford County, and Mrs. Lucinda Seese, of Virginia. The following children survive: Miss Lucinda, at home; Mrs. Emma Carstensen, of Grand, Ill.; Austin, of Pittsburgh; David and Mahlon, of Geistown, and J. W. Holsopple, of the Eighth Ward. Besides these children she is survived by nine grandchildren. The funeral will take place 10 o'clock Wednesday morning from the German Baptist Brethren Church, where the services will be conducted by the Rev. Mr. Howe. Interment will be made in the Weaver Burying Ground in Richland Township.
