Raymond Stoebner, 80 January 3, 1925 - May 7, 2005Funeral services for Raymond O. Stoebner were held Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at Friedens Reformed United Church of Christ, Tripp, with the Rev. Greg Way officiating. Special music was furnished by the UCC Men?s Choir, David Finck, soloist, and Shelly Finck, organist.Interment was made in the church cemetery with military rites by Jelkin-Harms American Legion Post #142. Goglin-Kelley Funeral Home, Tripp, was in charge of arrangements. Honorary casketbearers were the UCC Men?s Choir. Casketbearers were Keith Stoebner, Kyle Stoebner, Chad Vilhauer, Darin Vilhauer, Glen Vilhauer, and Kali Vilhauer.Raymond O. Stoebner was born on January 3, 1925, in Hutchinson County northeast of Tripp. His parents were Otto and Emma (Guthmiller) Stoebner.He married Evelyn Herr on April 14, 1946. This was the first wedding in the Friedens Reformed United Church of Christ. He farmed all his life, with the exception of the time he spent in the military. He was active in his church by serving on the consistory, as a Sunday School teacher, Superintendent, and singing in the Men?s Choir for many years. He was a member of Jelkin-Harms American Legion Post #142 and was a board member for the Farmer?s Union and Farmer?s Elevator.He died Saturday, May 7, at the Tripp Good Samaritan Center at the age of 80 years.He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Stoebner, Tripp; two children, Keith (Lynn) Stoebner, Tripp, and Darla (Glen) Vilhauer, Watertown; four grandchildren, Darin, Chad and Kali Vilhauer, all of Watertown, and Kyle Stoebner, Tripp; one brother, Rev. Donald (Rosie) Stoebner, Rapid City; one sister, Dianna (Martin) Thorsen, Shellsburg, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Chelsea Vilhauer in infancy; two adult sisters, Loraine and Betty; and a sister, Eldora, in infancy.
