Obituary - November 21, 1963 - Charles A. Hunkler. Former Resident, Dies Very Suddendly: Charles A. Hunkler, resident of 214 Eleventh St. N.E. Canton, was dead upon arrival at Mercy Hospital in Canton, Tuesday morning, November 19, after apparently suffering a heart attack. Mr. Hunkler was 74 years of age. He was born in Barnesville, and had resided in Canton since 1940. Mr. Hunkler was a retired meat cutter and was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Canton. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Bessie A. Hunkler of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ellen Brenn of Princeton, N.J.; one son, Ralph W. Hunkler of Columbus; six grandchildren; two brothers, Will Hunkler of Barnesville and Clem Hunkler of Dennison. The remains were taken the Spiker Funeral Home in Canton where friends were received Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. The Body will arrive today (Thursday) at the Cambell Funeral Home on North Chestnut Street where friends may call this evening from 7 to 9. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30. Final rites will be held Friday morning at 9 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption with the Rev. Father John Reardon officiating. Internment will be made in Crestview Cemetery.
