[S927] Obituary. Laura Stoebner Sep 29 1911 - Nov 09 2009 Laura Stoebner, age 98 of Mitchell, died Monday, November 09, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Society Home in Tripp, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, November 12 at the First Reformed Church in Mitchell with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Will Funeral Chapel with prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Laura was born on September 29, 1911 in Tripp, SD to Charles and Mathilda (Guthmiller) Pietz. She was one of ten children: Emil, Milo, Gertrude, Arlene, Eugene, Nettie, Luella, Ruby, and Hattie. Laura graduated from the eighth grade. On September 29, 1932, Laura married Leo Stoebner. Laura and Leo were blessed with seven children. Laura worked in the service department at Montgomery Wards and as a seamstress at the Rainbow Shop. Laura belonged to the First Reformed Church in Mitchell where she was the oldest charter member. She was also busy as a 4-H leader for over 25 years. Laura has been part of the Good Samaritan family in Tripp since September 12, 2007. She is survived by her children: Cheryl (Frank) Lutjens, Ethan, SD; Rochelle (George) Edwards, Cheyenne, WY; Lila (Fred) Mettler, Rapid City, SD and Vonda (Bruce) Alexander, Loomis, SD. 14 Grandchildren, 19 Great grandchildren. Brothers: Emil Pietz, Richmond, CA; and Milo Pietz, Huron, SD; and sisters: Arlene Prezler, Menno, SD and Gertrude Jumps, Sun Valley, NV. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo in 1980, 3 children: Kenneth Stoebner, Delvis Fenner and Arlee Jane Stoebner. A son in law Jerry Fenner, daughter in law Marlys Stoebner; granddaughter Sandy Edwards. A brother Eugene Pietz, sisters; Nettie Fischer, Hattie Pietz, Luella Herr, and Ruby Luebke.
