Viola Stoebner passed away after a brief illness on June 13, 2018 at the age of 93. She moved from her home where she lived for over 60 years to the Tripp Good Samaritan Home in 2015. She moved to the Menno-Olivet Care Center in January 2018. Viola was born February 7, 1925 to Christian and Helen (Schneider) Stoebner. She attended Hoff School (country school) through the 8th grade. She worked many hours on the family homestead. She also helped neighboring farms when needed. She moved to Tripp with her parents in 1953 when her brother Ray and his wife Erna took over the Stoebner Family Homestead. Viola worked at Magstadt Hardware, Bittner Drug and Tripp Good Samaritan Home. Bowling was her passion. She bowled for Bittner Drug team. She attended many tournaments throughout the state. She enjoyed cooking and was always willing to take care of a niece or nephew and teach them the important life lessons like playing rummy, Chinese checkers or tying shoes. She was a lifelong member of the Friedens Reformed Church. She leaves behind sister-in-law Erna Stoebner, nieces and nephews: Rick (Jean) Stoebner, Donald (Tona) Harms, Peg (Larry) Hamberger, Tim (Carmen) Stoebner, Brian Harms, Wanda (Mark Lopez), great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind special cousins Betty and Maynard Hieb and families and Ruby and Keith Dewald and families who were always there for her as well as several other cousins.
