"John Griesemer, 68, Hopedale nurseryman who enjoyed a wide acquaintance and had relatives in Pekin, died at his home there Sunday. He was injured in an automobile accident on December 8. He is survived by two daughters Mrs. Lee Henderson, Stanford, and Miss Erva Griesemer, California."

"Hopedale Man in Hurt In WreckHopedale, Dec. 8-- John Griesemer, 68 years, was painfully injured and shaken up around noon today when the Ford he was driving was struck by another car on the hard road. Mr. Griesemer who runs the nursery just at the edge of town was coming into town on route 122 and was struck when he turned onto the road. He was thrown from the car and landed on his head. Three stitches were taken to close the gash. At 2:30 he was still unconscious but showing signs of coming to."

"John Griesemer Dies of Injury
Many over the county and state will learn with regret that John Griesemer of Hopedale died this morning of injuries sustained Dec. 8 in an accident on the hard road. Mr. Griesemer had been one of the boosters for the new hard road. It was on this new road that a car struck Mr. Griesemer's Ford, injuring him so badly that he never recovered. He was unconscious most of the time since. Mr. Griesemer, who was 68, was a nurseryman of wide acquaintance over central Illinois and thru the state. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lee Henderson of Stanford, and Miss Erva of California."
