Bio: Age 72y 8m 17d"nyshistoricnewspapers.org SULLIVAN COUNTY RECORD, Jeffersonville, NY January 21 1943 page 5: Elizabeth Ruh, wife of John J Breiner, died suddenly of a heart attack at her home in Livingston Manor last Sunday morning.She had failed to attend Catholic church that morning as usual and friends called about 11 o'clock and found her lying dead on the bed and her husband overcome by coal gas escaping from the kitchen stove. Her husband was sitting by the stove when Mrs Breiner tipped the lid from the stove. She was ten taken with the heart attack and fell on the bed, while her husband was under the effects of the gas from the stove. He is now recovering. Born at Shandelee and was in her 60's. She was a daughter of Charles Ruh and Elizabeth Krantz. After her marriage she lived on the Breiner homestead above Callicoon Center for a time, and then they had a place on the gulf road for a number of years, going from there to Shandelee, where he built a summer hotel which he sold to Rudy l ball, pool tables and a refreshment stand to cater to the city boarders. Last fall they moved to the Manor for the winter and took a bungalow on DuBois Street. The funeral was held Wednesday at Livingston Manor. Leaves besides her husband a son, Herbert in Brooklyn and two daughters - Mrs Jeanette White of Livingston Manor now living in the city and Harriet married and living in Plattsburg.She was a cousin of Mrs Edward Homer of Youngsville, their mothers being sisters."
