- [S927] Obituary.
Saturday in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Raleigh. Wayne Miller 2 A Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bismarck Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service at 7 p.m. Wayne was born Feb. 24, 1956, at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, to Ray and Lillian (Leingang) Miller. He attended school in Flasher and graduated from North Dakota State University in Fargo in 1979 and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) Fraternity. Wayne's zest for life and natural curiosity took him to California in 1979, where he remained until the time of his passing. For almost 20 years, Wayne worked in the retail food industry and had recently started a painting and cleaning service. Wayne had a competitive spirit and was an avid sports fan his entire life. He enjoyed watching a good football game with the guys or just shooting the breeze at a backyard barbeque. Wayne was a very social person who left an impression with everyone he met. You never forgot him once you met him. He loved to visit with people and knew how to make you feel good about yourself. Wayne loved to have fun and lived life to the fullest. Although he loved living in California, he appreciated his rural roots and would share many stories about growing up on the family farm, helping his parents and working alongside his brothers and cousins. Those early years were precious to him. He especially enjoyed coming home for the holidays to spend time with his family and friends espe-cially his nieces and nephews, who were very dear to him. Those left to mourn his passing are his father, Ray, Bismarck; his brothers, Eugene (Jackie) Miller, Flasher, and Myron (Bernie) Miller, Flasher; his nieces, Reba, Moorhead, Minn., Lisa, Bismarck, and Tami, Wahpeton; his nephews, Brent, Fargo, and RJ, Bismarck; and his relatives and friends and his SAE Fraternity brothers. Wayne was preceded in death by his mother Lillian; his grandparents, Rudolph and Verena Miller and Peter H. and Rose Leingang; and numerous aunts and uncles. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice. Go to to sign the online guest book or to share memories with the family.
