SOURCE:Southern Illinoisan (Nov/27/2003)Clement J. EpplinPINCKNEYVILLE -- Clement J. Epplin, 84, passed away Sunday afternoon, Nov.23, 2003, in his home. Clement was born May 18, 1919, in Pinckneyville, theson of Joseph S. and Emma K. (Endres) Epplin. He was a retired farmer. Hewas a member of St. Bruno Catholic church in Pinckneyville and the Knightsof Columbus 2921. He was a decorated veteran who served in the U.S. Armyduring World War II. Clem touched many lives by his generosity to hisfamily, church and community. Survivors include three brothers, twinClarence Epplin of Florissant, Mo., and Joe Epplin and Albert Epplin, bothof Pinckneyville; special friend, Florence Alstat of Pinckneyville; 23nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in deathby his parents; two brothers, Edward Epplin and Carl Epplin; and a sister,Agnes Bruns. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov.26, 2003, in St. Bruno Catholic Church, with Father Brian Barkerofficiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery. Visitationwill be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday atPyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 9 a.m. Wednesday.Memorials may be made to St. Bruno School Endowment Fund
