Bio: John Edward Segbers, 76, of Delaware passed away Saturday evening June 21, 2014 at the Kobacker House in Columbus surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 3, 1937 in Columbus to the late Edward Joseph and Elizabeth Josephine (Rudmann) Segbers.
John was a devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Delaware. He was a rock and pillar of strength to his family, friends and the Catholic church community. He will be missed but remembered with love.
He was a loving husband to his wife of 56 years, Rita, and a loving father to four children, Craig (Debbie), Jeff (Robin), Michael and Staci (Tom) Zagore. Also left to cherish his memory are eight grandchildren, one great grandson, a brother David and a sister Teresa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Jim and two sisters Mary Vonder Haar and Gertrude Segbers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday June 24th from 2 ? 4 and 6 ? 8 pm at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, OH and where vigil of prayer services will be held at 4:00 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday June 25th at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 82 E. William St., Delaware, OH with Fr. B. Augustine Okpe officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
