Gerald Albert Jungles, 47, Greenville Road, will be at I p.m. Thursday at Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Burial, with full military rites, will be at Fort Donelson National Cemetery, Dover, Tenn. He died Friday at Walter Reed Hospital, Washington D.C., after a long illness. A native of Watkins, Minn., he was born Aug. 28, 1935, the son of Pete and Christine L. Jungles, Watkins, Minn. He was member of the Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He retired from the U. S. Army in 1974 after 21 years. During his military career he served three tours in Vietnam and earned the Bronze Star, 2nd Oak Leaf Cluster, Master Parachutist Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Vietnam Ranger Badge. He also served with the National Defense Service. Survivors, besides his parents, Include his wife Dorothy Jean West Jungles; two daughters, Susan Denise and Cindy Kay Jungles, both of the home; one stepson; Sgt. 1st Class Michael Keith Powell, Fort Campbell; two stepdaughters, Vickie Diane Blandford, Hopkinsville, and Debbie Jean Bryan, Jacksonville, Fla.; and four step-grandchildren. --Kentucky New Era, Tuesday, May 3, 1983, page 2A Contributor: Joe Craver -- KY Legionnaire (48586211) ?
