Cecelia M. Eckert, 84, Bismarck, passed away on Jan. 4, 2012, at Medcenter One, Bismarck. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck, with the Rev. Gene Lindemann officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Cecelia was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Mandan, the daughter of Phillip and Frances (Froelich) Berger. She married Anton M. Eckert on June 9, 1947, and together they had six children during their 20 years of marriage.
Cecelia dedicated her life to raising her six children, whom she was so proud of. She worked at Farm City Grocery Store for several years before working at Will-Moore Elementary School, where she retired from.
She was an Elvis Presley fan and collected Elvis Presley memorabilia. She lived at Crescent Manor and spent many enjoyable hours visiting with the residents.
Cecelia is survived by her children, Roger (Barb) Eckert, Fargo, Toni (Gary) Riveland, Bismarck, Deb (Mark) Mosolf, Bismarck, Bob (Candy) Eckert, Mandan, Carla (Rick) Rasmussen, Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Tracy (Mark) Geohring, Janesville, Wis.; her grandchildren, Scott Eckert, Kim (Rick) Nelson, Shannon (Angie) Mosolf, Amber (Jeff) Lovdal, Ashley Eckert and Robby (Jody) Eckert; her eight great-grandchildren, Jerod Eckert, Madysen Mosolf and Ashtyn Mosolf, Andrew and Gabriel Lovdal, Emmey and Bobby Eckert and a very special great-granddaughter, Miranda Nelson; her step-grandchildren, Chris and Amy Rasmussen and Ryan, Carlie Riveland, Shaun and Vicki Riveland, Justin Riveland and Jessica and Kevin Williams; her step-great-grandchildren, Tayler and Reid Rasmussen, Jaron and Elliana Riveland, Elliott Riveland, Ayden Schmidt and Stella and Taylor Williams; her brothers, Clemens (Val) Berger, Oregon, and Eugene Berger, Arizona; and her sister-in-law, Jo Berger, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert "Bob" and infant, Kenneth; one daughter-in-law, JoAnn Eckert; and one grandson, Christopher Eckert.
