Roe and Alvy T. Schell in Minneapolis, Kansas. When he was a small child his family moved to Washington Center where he spent his entire life except for a short time in Colorado. He was married to Mary G. Phillips on May 14, 1923. To this union Two sons were born, Carrol Dean and Eugene Row. Mary passed away in 1934. Ben married Helen Glenn on May, 11, 1935 and to this union were born 3 sons; Norman Glenn, Donald Ben and Gary Lynn. Ben was a skilled blacksmith and machinist and owned his own shop in Washington Center. He was well known throughout the area for his ability to weld and repair machinery . He was a member of the Westly Chapel Methodist Church. Ben departed this life on July 25, 1987 at Crestview Nursing Home. Preceding him in death his father and mother, a sister May Payton, a brother Carl, a son Carroll Dean, and a grandson Michael Schell and a great grand daughter Renne Goddard. His survivors include his wife Helen of the home, four sons; Gene and wife Rosalie of Windsor, Mo., Norman and wife Anna of St. Joseph, Mo., Donald and wife Judy of Independence, Gary and wife Mary of Andrew, Ia., daughter-in-law Iola and husband Charles Williamson of Independence, two sisters, Ocie Hartshen and Ruth Nagel of Bethany. Two brothers-in-law; Bob Phillips and wife Virginia of Dothan Ala., Cecil Phillips and wife Lois of Eagleville Mo., A sister-in-law, Dona Lea Collins of a Bethany, mother-in-law, Bona Nethken of Martinsville, Mo., A father-in-law, Jim Glenn of a Bethany, also surving are 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews who will all miss him very much. Funeral services were held on Monday Juky, 27, 1987 by Rev.
