Moore died Oct. 25. Born in Jersey City to Edward and Julia Moore. He served with the U.S. Army Military Police during the Korean War. He was awarded a football scholarship to Clemson University. His love of football continued and with the strong support of his family and friends he coached High School football in Hudson and Bergen Counties for over fifty years. His John Moore achievements were many. One of his former players remarked "He taught us how to act not only on the field, but off the field as well." He was employed as a senior manager for Beneficial Finance for 37 years. He was a parishioner and an usher at St. Francis R.C. Church in Ridgefield Park and an Adjutant for the American Legion Post 69 in Carlstadt. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Barbara (nee Hanna) Moore; his daughter, Erin Elizabeth; his grandchildren, Jaclyn and Thomas John; his sister, Eileen Wilson and her family; and his aunt, Helen Flynn. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral was Oct. 31 at St. Francis R.C. Church, Ridgefield Park, with interment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
