Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 15th at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Erie. There will be a Rosary at 3:30 PM and Visitation from 4 ? 7 PM on Wednesday at Gibson ? Bode Funeral Home, Erie. Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the FFA or 4H organizations. Lyle Edward Wirth was born December 20, 1929 near Prophetstown, IL, the son of James and Edna (Oberle) Wirth. He married Joyce Nissen in Clinton, IA in 1952. He was a lifelong farmer and also worked as a Diesel Mechanic for several years at Brown?s Implement in Erie. Lyle was a member of St. Ambrose Church in Erie. He loved working on his collection of antique tractors and was a life member of the Antique Engine and Tractor Association in Geneseo. He had also been a member of the County Line Cruisers car club in Erie. He is survived by his 3 children, Jeanine (Robert) Rader, Sun Prairie, WI, Timothy Wirth, Geneseo, Joe Wirth (David Osborn), Silvis; grandchildren, Matt (Jen) Miller, Ethan (Emily) Miller, Sec Lt. Nicholas R. Rader USMC, Tim (Amy) Wirth, Justin Wirth (Ashlee), Robert Wirth and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Joyce, son Michael in infancy, grandson Daniel in infancy and his brother, Arlyn Wirth.
