He married Lois H. Egert on August 17, 1947 in Prophetstown. He farmed in the Prophetstown area for 63 years. He enjoyed raising cattle and showed them in 4-H as a youth. He had a passion for farming and loved woodworking. He was a member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church and held numerous positions over the years. He was also a member of the Prophetstown Lions Club, Whiteside County Cattle Feeders Association, and Whhiteside County Farm Bureau. He also served on the board of the Farmers National Bank of Prophetstown.His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Lois; 4 daughters, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister.Dwight passed away September 24, 2010 at the age of 82, at St. Anthony's Medical Center, Rockford, IL. A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 30th at Prophetstown United Methodist Church with Pastor Insun Yoon officiating. A gathering of friends and family was held at McDonald Funeral Home, Prophetstown from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29th. Cremation rites were accorded. in lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Prophetstown United Methodist Church.
