Obituary for Joseph T. Knoeringer
Joseph T. Knoeringer 87 of the Ortley Beach section of Toms River, NJ, formerly of Jersey City, NJ died on Tuesday December 28, 2010 at Home. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he moved to Ortley Beach 59 years ago. Joe was a General Contractor and a Real Estate Broker owning and operating Ortley Realty Co. and REM Real Estate Maintenance all of Ortley Beach. He was a Disabled US Army Veteran of World War II. He belonged to the Disabled Vets and to the VFW in Toms River and to the American Legion in Seaside Heights, NJ. A member of the Moose Lodge 399 Seaside Heights and ran the Moose Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps and later ran the St Josephs Drum and Bugle Corps in Toms River, NJ. Joe was a member of the Elks and a founding member of the John F. Kennedy Democratic Club both of Toms River, NJ. He also ran for office as a Democrat for Township Committee and served on the Board of Education for 10 years in Toms River. Joe was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help RC Church in Seaside Heights, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife Catherine. He is survived by his sons Jay of Beachwood, NJ Thomas ?Bates? of Toms River, NJ and Jamie of Ortley Beach, NJ. Two daughters Joanne Davis of Beachwood, NJ and Patricia Ramundo of Palisades Park, NJ. A brother Walter of Venice, Fla. 10 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren and his dear companion Jevis. The family will receive friends Monday January 3, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Grand Central Ave., Lavallette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Seaside Heights, NJ at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
