Jacob Berger HEBRON Jacob Berger, 88, Hebron, died, June 5, 2014, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10 a.m. CDTTuesday, June 10, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Hebron. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Hebron. He is survived by his wife, Clara; four children, Charlotte Roller, Belfield, David and Jack, both of Hebron, and Larry, Bismarck: 12 grandchildren: 18 greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Kearnes, Richard-ton, and Josephine Kuntz, Rock Springs, Wyo.; and one brother, Peter, Hebron. Bio: Jacob Berger, 88, Hebron, died, Thursday, June 5, 2014 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Jacob's Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. CT on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Hebron with Fr. Jeff Zwack as celebrant. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Hebron. Military honors will be provided by the Hebron American Legion, Henry Biffert Post 100. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., Monday at the church with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Jacob J. Berger was born April 19, 1926, one of 12 children, at Hebron to Jacob and Elizabeth (Jantzer) Berger. After completing his education, Jacob worked on the family farm until February1945 when he joined the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge in October 1946, he returned home and worked on the farm. Jacob married Clara Schaaf at Glen Ullin on July 27, 1949. Jacob then began working for the railroad for the next five years but returned to farming. Jacob also served on the Richardton police force for a short time. In 1962 Jacob and Clara bought their own farm south of Hebron which he actively worked until retiring in 1998. Jacob loved farming and working in the shop. He also enjoyed watching the calves play, playing pinochle, and hunting. Jacob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Clara, Hebron; four children, Charlotte (Duane) Roller, Belfield, David (Diane), Hebron, Jack (Janice), Hebron, and Larry (Kelli), Bismarck: 12 grandchildren: 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Kearnes, Richardton and Josephine Kuntz, Rock Springs, Wyo., one brother, Peter, Hebron and two sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Elizabeth; four brothers, Matt, Paul, Joe, and Emmanuel; four sisters, Anna, Elizabeth, Barbara, and Emma; one sister-in-law and four brothers-in-law.
