ACKROYD Post-Standard, The (Syracuse, NY) - Friday, December 20, 1996 Gloria M. Ackroyd , 70, of East Lake Road, Skaneateles, died Thursday at Francis House, Syracuse, after a long illness. A native of Binghamton, Mrs. Ackroyd lived in Skaneateles three years. She retired in 1982 as a guidance counselor with Cortland High School and previously was a music teacher and band director with Fayetteville-Manlius and McGraw high schools. Mrs. Ackroyd also operated an antique business in McGraw and the Skaneateles Antique Center. She was a 1947 graduate of Syracuse University. Mrs. Ackroyd was a communicant of St. Mary's of the Lake Church, Skaneateles. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority at SU. Surviving are her husband, William B.; two sons, William M. of Dryden and James F. of Homer; a brother, Richard A. Manning of Canandaigua; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 9 a.m. Monday at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles, and 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's of the Lake Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Skaneateles. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 49 Jordan St. Contributions may be made to St. Mary's of the Lake Church or Francis House. Family Members Spouse William B.
