Bio: OBITUARY :CLARENCE ARTHUR BROWN, 81 of 106 N. Sixth St., Chambersburg, died early Saturday in the Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg, following a two-month illness.Born July 15, 1899 in Belmont County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Mary (Dyer) Brown.He was a member of the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church, Chambersburg.He was an elder of the church for many years and was chairman of the annual stewardship drive on several occasions He currently served as chairman of the "Service to People" mission fund of the church.He was employed as a wholesale and retail lumber salesman, retiring 13 years ago.He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (DeTempIe) Brown, four sons, Clarence A. Brown, Jr., Phoenix, Ariz., Donald E. Brown, Wooster, Ohio, Robert A. Brown, Edison, N.J. and James E. Brown, Waynesboro, two brothers., Glenn Brown., Canton, Ohio, Floyd Brown, Jerusalem, Ohio, a sister, Mrs. Ernest Hickenbottom, Somerton, Ohio and seven grandchildren.Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church Chapel with the Rev. William H. Harter officiating. Burial will be in the Falling Spring Presbyterian Cemetery.Friends will be received in the Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg, from 7 to 9 p.m. today.Memorial contributions may be made to the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church Mission Fund, 221 N. CLARENCE A. BROWN Clarence Arthur Brown, 81, 106 N. Sixth St., wholesale and retail lumber salesman who retired 13 years ago. died early Jan. 10,1981, in Polyclinic Hospital, Har-risburg, following an illness of two months. Born July 15, 1899, in Belmont County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Mary Dyer Brown. Mr. Brown was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Falling Spring where he was an elder for many years, was chairman of the annual stewardship drive on several occasions and was currently serving as chairman of the Service to People Mission Fund. He was active in the Contact organization. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth D. Temple Brown; four sons: Clarence A. Brown Jr., Phoenix, Ariz.; Donald E. Brown, Wooster, Ohio; Robert A. Brown, Edison, N.J.; James E. Brown, Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; two brothers: Glenn Brown, Canton, Ohio; Floyd Browu, Jerusalem, Ohio, and a sister, Mrs. Otis (Pearl) Hickenbottom, Somerton, Ohio. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Presbyterian Church of the Falling Spring with the Rev. William H. Harter officiating. Burial will be in Falling Spring Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home this evening from 7 to 9 . Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of the Falling Spring Mission Fund.
