Frances Marie (Mischel) Hoffman MISSOULA-Frances Marie (Mischel) Hoffman, 70, a longtime Missoula resident, passed away peacefully at home Monday, June 6, 2005. There will be visitation from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at Garden City Funeral Home followed by a vigil service and recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. There will be a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Francis Xavicr Hoffman Church at 10:30 a.m. Thursday followed by a reception at Reidy Hall. Frances was born to John and Hope (Blackburn) Mischel on Dec. 24, 1934, in Belfield, N.D. She married Ray Hoffman on Nov. 23, 1957, in Glendive and the young family then moved to Missoula in 1963. Frances spent her time raising her children and eventually working for Western Montana Clinic for 20 years, spending much of that time as a receptionist and telephone, operator. She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking skills for her family and friends, as well as being a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Frances is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ray of Missoula; son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Courtney I loffman of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter and son'-in-law, Shelly and Phil Trunkle of Billings; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Jay Gunderson of Calgary, Albertu; and son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Mary Hoffman of Missoula. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Bernice Mischel of Glendive; and mother-in-law, Georgia Hoffman of Missoula. Frances is further survived by her loving grandchildren, Nicole, Rachael, Paige, Jessica, Lauren, Andrea, Skyler, Aubrec, Austin, Braedon, Noah, Michael, Camryn, Hope and Robbie; as well as several nieces and nephews and a special circle of friends, "The Gang." Frances was preceded in death by a sister, Louella Ashbacker. Those wishing to make a contribution in Frances' name may do so by contributing to Missoula Catholic Schools or St. Francis Xavicr Church. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory.
