Bradford A. Detthof, 71, of Allentown, died Dec. 19, 2008, at St. Lukes Hospital, Allentown Campus. He was retired from Central Plumbing and Heating Inc., Allentown, where he was employed as a bookkeeper. He was a member of Emmaus (Pa.) Moravian Church. Brad was born on Jan. 15, 1937, in Reading, the son of the late Alfred L. Detthof and Laura (Rissmiller) Detthof. He was predeceased by his sisters, Margaret A. Einsel and Ruth E. Detthof. Brad was a graduate of Reading High School and attended Kutztown State Teachers College. He enjoyed horses, genealogy and biblical studies. He served as a past vice president of the Boots and Saddles Riding Club, Allentown. Survivors: Brother, John R. Detthof and his wife Helen of Bethlehem; nephew, Robert R. Einsel and his wife Nancy of Hershey; great-niece, Kristin Einsel; great-nephew, Jason Einsel. Services: Memorial, noon Tuesday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus, with Rev. Diane Joseph officiating. Call 11:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Spies Zion Cemetery, Stony Creek, Berks County. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, may be made to Emmaus Moravian Church.
