Youse, a union official and former musician, died Tuesday at 7:15 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday.Youse, 72, of Rivervale Road, Muhlenberg Township, was taken to the hospital from the Wyomissing Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Reading.He was the husband of Helen E. (Moyer) Youse.Youse played the drums in several area bands and gave drum lessons in his residence until becoming ill. He was elected to the executive board of Local 135-211 American Federation of Musicians, in 1957. He was elected local treasurer in 1966 and assumed the duties of secretary-treasurer in 1975. He also had been secretary-treasurer of the Penn-Del-Mar Washington D.C. Conference since 1985.Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Daniel and Millie (Heffner) Youse.Youse was employed for 15 years as credit manager by American Argo Corp., Schuylkill Haven, retiring in 1989.He was a graduate of Reading High School. His wife was his only survivor. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
