He married Lela B. Sutton in LaPorte, Indiana on May 6, 1939. Harold was employed at Clark Equipment Company in Buchanan, retiring as a Supervisor after 38 years of service and was a councilman for the Village of Three Oaks for 15 years. He was a member of the St. John Church of Three Oaks and also a member of the Three Oaks F. and A. M.Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Mike and Donna Heckathorn of Three Oaks; Linda and Rick Whitfield of Hobe Sound, Florida and Harold and Ruth Heckathorn of Bridgman, Michigan, great nephews, Jason and Justin, great niece Nicole, great great nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law, Rosemary Heckathorn of Three Oaks. His wife, Lela preceded him in death on December 14, 1987.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Galien Cemetery with Pastor Mark Keel officiating. Pobocik Funeral Home of Three Oaks, Michigan is serving the family.Memorials may be made to the St. John Church, 10 West Ash Street, Three Oaks, Michigan 49128.
