Bio: August 24, 2012 Vernon L. Knavel The Tribune-Democrat The Tribune-Democrat WINDBER ? KNAVEL ? Vernon L., 87, went to be with his heavenly father and loved ones Aug. 23, 2012. He was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Salix, son of Cloyd and Cora (Heller) Knavel. He resided in Seanor for 62 years. He was preceded in death by parents; wife of 52 years, Grace E. (Fyock); granddaughter, Libby Ann Haynes; and sons-in-law, Dale Haynes and Richard Hershberger. He is survived by these children: Leslie, married to the former Sharon Bentz, Davidsville; Elaine, married to George Null, Seanor; Eileen, married to Richard Bonzani, Carlisle; Gary, married to the former Nancy Rively, Westmont; and Shirley, and friend, Joe Antonazzo, Bradenton, Fla. He also is survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Brother of Evelyn (Shetler) French, Davidsville, and Marlin Knavel, Oil City. Also survived by close friend, Mary Lou Berkey and her family. Vernon was employed by Galliker Dairy for 42 years. He was a faithful member of Kaufman Mennonite Church, where he greeted everyone with a smile and a hug. He enjoyed visiting shut-ins, walking, gardening and riding his motorcycle, being a former member of the Christian Motorcycle Club. The family would like to say thanks to the staff of the Church of the Brethren Home for their kindness and support. Family receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at Kaufman Mennonite Church, Pastor Keith Yoder officiating. Interment, Custer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Kaufman Mennonite Church, 916 Miller Picking Road, Davidsville, Pa 15928. Arrangment by the George E.
