He was a native of Pittsburgh, and a Poquoson resident more than 60 years; was a World War II Army veteran; and retired from NASA Langley in 1985 after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Va. Peninsula Campers Assn. for many years. He loved to play his harmonica, and played for nursing homes and events in a small band. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elsie Williams; two sisters, Audrey Fair and Bonnie Williams; one brother, Eugene Williams; and his son, Robert "Bobby" Williams. He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Ophelia Sue; a son, Earl Williams Jr. (Geneva); two daughters, Linda Sue King (Doug), and Patricia Pigford (Donald); daughter-in-law, Lesa Williams; and he had thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who will miss their DEE-DEE. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, and other times at the home. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home by the Rev. Milford C. Rollins. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton, with military honors.
