He was an inspector for United Airlines and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Survivors: his wife, the former Catherine Hughes; two daughters, Carolynne A Vann of Marysville, Calif., and Theresa Lahmer of North Highlands, Calif., a brother, Eugene M.
