Lorraine Hertz Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Lorraine Miller was born Feb. 4, 1926, at Tuttle, the daughter of Albert and Pauline (Weisenburger) Miller. She was raised on the family farm northwest of Tuttle and attended her first two years of grade school at Tuttle, and the remaining grade-school years at rural Kickapoo Township School. Lorraine graduated from Tuttle High School in 1944 and taught in rural schools for ' two years. On June 23, 1946, she married Reinhold Hertz at Tuttle and they lived 12 miles north of Wing, where they resided for 52 years. In 1998, Lorraine and her husband moved to Bismarck. They enjoyed traveling, and spent 19 winters in Arizona. Lorraine was a past member of Wing Homemakers Club, Ladies Church Circle, and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary. She and her husband were members of United Church of Christ. Lorraine had many hobbies and was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafting, crocheting and reading. Her love of flowers and gardening was very evident in her yard, where she spent many pleasant hours growing new varieties. Lorraine's grandchildren were her pride and joy, especially her great-grandsons whom she loved to have visit. She is survived by her husband, Reinhold, Bismarck; three sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Brenda, Wing, Roger and Pat, Omaha, Neb., and Dwight and Joni, Bismarck; six grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason, both of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Dawn, Bismarck, Aaron, Wing, and Nick and Cassy, both of Santa Cruz, Calif.; two great-grandsons, Skyler and Darby, both of Council Bluffs; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bruce and Valoyce Miller, Bismarck, Leo and Jan Miller, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Duane Miller, Minot; one sister and brother-in-law, Bernette and Alan Bowan, Charlotte, N.C.; three sisters-in-law, Betty Miller, Kathy Miller and Lois Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
