Paape, of Waubeka, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the age of 78.Floyd was born in Milwaukee on October 13, 1931, the son of Clarence and Marcela Nennig Paape.In 1947, at the age of 15, Floyd joined the US Army Air Corps, which he was honorable discharged from a short time later. In 1955, he was drafted in the US Army and serviced until 1961, with two years of that time stationed in Alaska.On December 28, 1955, he married Barbara Toth at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Chilton.Mr. Paape worked as a crane and boom operator and a supervisor at A.O. Smith in Milwaukee for 30 years, retiring in 1982.Floyd's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting, and visits up north.He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara of Waubeka; children, Pam (Dan) Deppiesse of Cedar Grove, Kathy (Wally) Rassel of West Bend, Bryon (Jean) Paape of Muskego, Bruce (Debbie) Paape of Waubeka and Jennifer (Ron) Klas of Fredonia. He is further survived by his 14 grandchildren, Eric (Carla) Deppiesse, Sara Deppiesse, Matthew Rassel, Emily (Seth) Steffen, Natalie Paape, Joshua and Alexa Paape, Amanda, Cassie and Gary Klas, Alea and Danny Gannon, and David and Tracy Theeke, other relatives and many friends.He is preceded in death by his parents; children, David, Patricia and Jim Paape; and two brothers, Robert and Lloyd Paape.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 29 at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave. in Belgium with Pastor Wayne King officiating. Floyd will be laid to rest with military honors at St. Paul's Cemetery in Waubeka.
