Funeral services for Fred Sonnenberg, Jr., 54, of Sawyer will be held in Trinity Lutheran church here by the Rev. E.G. Ripke, pastor, at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, north of Three Oaks.Mr. Sonnenberg died at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday at Mercy hospital, Benton Harbor, where he had been a patient since Sept. 28.He was born in Poland Sept. 9, 1900, and was the son of Fred and Amelia Sonneberg. Most of his lifetime had been spent in Sawyer.He married Miss Helen Zimmerle Oct. 23, 1922 in Sawyer.Mr. Sonnenberg was employed as a machinist by the Pullman Car Manufacturing company in Michigan City, Ind., until he became ill. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church.Surviving besides his wife, Helen, are his mother, Mrs. Fred Sonnenberg, Sr. of Michigan City, Ind., a daughter, Mrs. Leo Glaske, of Bridgman; four grandchildren; two brothers, Edward, of Michigan City, and John, of Benton Harbor; and one sister, Mrs. Julia Pudell of Benton Harbor. A son, Roland, preceded him in death in 1952.
