Bio: Donna May Miller, 74, Mandan, North Dakota, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, in her home in the presence and care of her son Scott and his wife Lori. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, June 24, 2013, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church with Msgr. Chad Gion officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, June 23, 2013, from 4-6:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary service beginning at 7:00 PM, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Donna was born June 24, 1938, at Mandan, to Luigi and Rose (Swindling) Ciavarella. She was raised and educated in Mandan where she graduated from high school. On January 19, 1959, she married Leo Miller. He passed away on February 27, 2001. She worked at the Mandan Elks, Heartview Foundation, and various restaurants. Donna loved spending time with her family and friends, but especially her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and everyone enjoyed her banana cream pie and cucumber salad. She loved reading the Bible, going to church, knitting for others, and researching genealogy of her family. She was an amazing, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandma, and sister, and will be missed by her two sons and their wives, Scott and Lori, and Mike and Carol, all of Mandan; one sister, Cecelia (Herman) Dosch, sister-in-law, Adelaide Ciavarella, all of Bismarck; two brothers, Leonard (Rosemary) and Joe Ciavarella, all of Mandan; grandchildren, Jerome, Tim (Jese), Brent (Lindsey), Eric, Stephen, Crystal, and Brandy; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo; sisters Kathryn (Adam) Bernhardt, Dorothy (Ralph) Weber; and brothers, Tony (Agnes), Ken (Valerie) and sisters-in-law, Betty and Carol.
