Bio: John A. Skinner, 90, of Liberty, died Monday, June 20, 2011, at his residence.He was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Franklin County, the son of Raymond and Addie Bake Skinner. He served in the Navy from 1941 to 1945. He farmed for 29 years in Franklin and Union counties while also working at Sperry-Rubber & Plastics for 10 years and later at Liberty Tree Campground for 10 years. He was a member of Liberty Church of Christ and the Antique Machinery Club of Franklin County.He is survived by his wife, Norma J. Apsley Skinner, whom he married Nov. 10, 1945; three sons, Darrell Skinner of Madison, Gregory Skinner of Brookville and Jan Skinner of Liberty; one brother, James Skinner of Alquina; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Laura and Mildred; and one brother, Kenneth.The funeral was at Cook Funeral Home in Brookville. Burial was in Sims Cemetery in New Fairfield. Military honors were conducted graveside.Madison Courier 6/23/11
