YAHNER - Gerald J., 80, of Oakland, passed away Jan. 9, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Oct. 11, 1925, in Hastings, son of the late Charles E. and Bertha (Wyland) Yahner. Preceded in death by brother, William. Survived by wife, Cecelia (Bachleda), with whom he celebrated 54 1/2 years together; children, Barbara, married to Larry Neary, Harrisburg, and their children, Kevin and Jill Neary; Janet, married to Michael Kiernan, Huntersville, N.C., and their children, Laura and Michael Kiernan; Mark Yahner, Germantown, Md.; and Sharon Lizambri, Middletown, Pa., and her daughter, Sara Lizambri; and brother, Donald Yahner, Cleveland, Ohio. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church. World War II Army veteran. He was a life member of the Hastings VFW. He retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. after 28 years of service as a production scheduler. He enjoyed his family and his grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills. Service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Monsignor Michael Becker officiating. Interment will be private.
